WebKeeper
is on the Home / Weblinks tab and
provides a place to store
attachments and Internet web links in a private database.
See the Help Topic called Securing Your WebKeeper Database
for how to password-protect the WebLinks tab.
Overview
WebKeeper replaces the functionality of 'My Favorites' list in your
browser. In addition to storing just the links to your favorite
websites, WebKeeper lets you add a description for each and store a
user login name and password (if the website uses it) in your
personal database.
Please click here for general information about using the Toolbar,
Form and Fields.
Adding Web Address To WebKeeper
To add a favorite website to WebKeeper, open the website in your
browser, then create a new record by clicking 'New" on the toolbar.
Enter a name click the 'Add Web Address' button on WebKeeper which
puts the URL into the 'WebSite URL' field.
Enter a description so that you know what this website contains. If
your website is a secure site, such as a credit card or banking
site, and requires a login name and password to login into it, enter
the Login Name and Login Password, too. The Login Password will
never be displayed, as it's a password field that only shows "****"
when you type. If you want to see the password, double-click in the
Login Password field to popup another edit box.
Opening A Website
Double-click on the Website URL field to open the website; the Login
Password will be put on the Windows Clipboard. When the website
opens, enter your Login Name, then click in the Password textbox and
use the Windows Paste function (Ctrl+V) to paste the Login Password
into it. You never have to remember a Login Password again!
Click 'Save to add the website link to WebKeeper, or cancel to NOT
add it . NOTE: The Name field is required, the others are optional.
Editing A Record
You can edit a WebKeeper record just like any other; if the URL
changes, just open the correct one and put the record in Edit mode,
then click the "Add Web Address" button again to refresh the Website
URL path.
Deleting A Record
If you want to delete a WebLink in WebKeeper, click on it in the
list to select it, then click the 'Delete' button. You’ll be asked
if you really want to delete it. Click 'Yes' to delete it, or 'No'
to cancel.
Security?
The Personal Data tab is, by default, NOT password-protected. To
protect your WebKeeper information, click the 'Set Password' button
on the top of the tabbed page and enter a unique password (NOT the
same as your application login password), so that no one else can
open this Tabbed page.
See the Help Topic called Securing
Your WebKeeper Database for how to password-protect the WebLinks
tab.
Click your browser's 'Back' button to
return to the previous page.
