The Home Page - Securing the Personal Database for WebKeeper Information

Click your browser's 'Back' button to return to the previous page.

WebKeeper is on the Home / Weblinks tab and provides a place to store attachments and Internet web links in a private database that NEVER is a part of your production database.  You can add a password to this tab to protect the information from other users.

Overview

For users who travel a lot, such as salespeople, this page is a place for them to safely take their personal information with them without fear of mixing it with company data.

For example, if you're 'on the road' for days or weeks, and use online services to pay your bills, you can store those website links, along with your login name and password in WebKeeper, so that you have that information with you wherever you go.

The location of this personal database is:
My Documents\SalesPro <Edition name>\PersonalData.mdb

Protecting Your Personal Data
By default, there is no password set for the tab on this page. Anyone who has access to your computer while this application is running can view this tab without a password.

To create a password, check the 'Require Login' checkbox, then click on the 'Set Password' button and choose 'Create Password' from the menu. Enter a password, then click 'OK' to save it.

To change a password, click on the 'Set Password' button and choose "Change Password". Enter your current password, then enter and confirm your new password. Your new password is effective immediately, so if you click on another tab and then click back on the Personal Data tab, you will need to enter your NEW password.

To remove your password, click on the 'Set Password' button and choose 'Remove Password'. Click 'OK' when prompted and you will no longer need a password to get to this tab.

If you forgot your password...
If you try to login three times and cannot enter the correct password, you'll be prompt to have the system email your password to you. This will be sent to the email address associated to your login name in Security. If you are not using Security, you'll be prompted to reset it immediately.
